Backstory:

As a young boy my father and I travelled to many cities to complete my father’s work. My father worked as a transcriber, we would often travel to cities just to stay in their library and copy their tomes. During these times I entertained myself with reading every book I could get my hands on. As I got older I read more adventurously and started reading books that entailed magic, daemons and other treacherous things. After turning eighteen I left my father and started research into creating a pact with a patron.

Patron: Traegon the Possessed

There was a legend in a book I read once, a crazed warlock who attempted to summon a powerful daemon. His plan was to bring on a new age of evil and fear by letting the daemon conquer the world. He saw the daemon as a god that would bring his new age and he was just his disciple.
After years of research and preparation he was almost ready but at the same time a force lead by a formidable Paladin knight named Traegon sort to stop the summoning from happening. Once they found the location of the summons it was already underway, the warlock at prepared a huge homunculus that the daemon would poses. The warlock was easily killed, he died happy as he knew the ritual had already commenced and could not be stopped. The spell was far more complicated than anything Traegon or his men had ever seen , the homunculus stood on the summoning circle that would inevitably bring the daemon into their world. All the efforts to stop the spell failed, Traegon using his immense strength threw the homunculus from its post but upon trying to leave the circle he found himself trapped. The warlock had precautions against someone trying to stop the summons , Traegon knew that the must always must one being in the circle.
The ritual was almost complete as a crack in reality formed behind the Traegon starting the opening the portal to the daemons realm. Traegon's men began to hoist the homunculus back towards the circle to free Treagon. As they prepared for the switch Traegon stopped, He knew what he had to do. He instructed his men to stop , lay down their weapons and channel any power they had into his body. He then turned round the now gaping portal. His men where now praying and channeling all energy into Traegons body and soul, streams of golden magic wound their way into his body at the same time thick black tendrils started to latch on to his body from the portal. The black tendrils pinned his arms behind him , thrusting his chest towards the portal , the portal was now much larger than Traegon and finally a mass of energy came rushing through, straight into the body of Traegon.
He dropped to the ground and began to writhe with the pain of his pure mind being taken over but such evil being. As the initial shock wore off Traegon steadied himself. With great force of will he knelt up , his face was clearly strained as the daemon continued to try and take control. Traegon had a powerful soul and the internal battle between them was evident each movement was a great struggle. It wasn’t clear who was winning but they stood up. Traegon then gathered all his conceivable strength to his final struggle and with the determination that could only come with someone truly devoted to preserving his world he shakily walked back through the portal sealing it behind him and banishing the daemon back to its realm.
The story says, that battle was the most important battle between good and evil that world has ever seen, two truly powerful beings…
After reading about this legend I couldn’t help but wonder what happened to Traegon and the daemon. After years of research and experimentation I concluded that their souls would have fused together and they could be summoned in a similar way to how a warlock summons a regular daemons. However in all my studies and research there no history of these event ever happening, I had read all legends, myths and historical tomes but nothing sounded remotely similar.
Once they were summoned they were unable to agree on a pact because each one sort a different goal. The daemon agreed to give me power in return for causing chaos and spreading evil however Traegon would only agree to be summoned if I would use his strength to aid this world.
I formulated a way in which they could both agree , a way where they would both exist in me but they would no longer need to fight each other. Much like a coin they could both be present in me without ever facing each other.
