Background:
Officer of the Mercenary Company: Hounds of Justice
Auxiliary Mercenary Company to the Church of Light based from Crydee, specifically under Liara the goddess of Justice. Usually financed by the city and church for punitive expeditions. In recent times this has involved killing drow, orcs and goblins which Gar enjoys greatly.
Gar is a grizzled mercenary veteran, born from farming stock. His family’s stead was raided by orcs when he was a young boy; he watched helplessly as his family was slaughtered. Excepting his father who ran at the first sign of trouble, leaving a distraught young Gar to trudge the long way to Crydee.
Once he got to Crydee, young Gar was taken in by the Church and spent many of his years there, admiring the paladins and holy warriors of the church. The few years that Gar spent in the church only shaped his faith to a more vengeful creed; he gravitated towards the goddess of Justice, Liara.
Gar trained under the paladins and also the city guard. Once old enough, he joined the army for a short stint of 2 years before he deserted, seeking a different experience. He has travelled far, in other mercenary companies, never quite to his liking.
Growing homesick, he returns to Crydee and to the temples therein. The churches are putting together military forces to restore order to the Duchy. Finally seeing this opportunity, he enlists into the company, Hounds of Justice and distinguishes himself killing orcs and drow. After almost a decade of service, he retires.

Retirement disagrees with Gar, and he quickly finds himself in the grasp of vice such as gambling and drink. After several years he decides to combat this restlessness by un-retiring.

Very bitter and arrogant, but follows the niceties of the faith. He believes that, as a mighty warrior, it is his responsibility to protect the weak and useless. He thinks them pathetic but will fight for coin or duty to humankind against orcs, elves and other alien threats.

5’10” muscular, worn armour and weapons. Short salt and pepper beard, close cropped black hair with grey at the temples.
