Caradoc was born and grew up in the city of Karse on the Far Coast. When the War of Karse gripped the city both his parents and his older siblings were enlisted to serve in the King of Karse's Army, while Caradoc was enrolled in a school that taught the majesty and power of the 'Dark Lady'. The servants of the Dark Lady ran these lessons in an attempt to indoctrinate the children of Karse, but a year after the rebellion began the city of Karse was levelled when a ritual being performed by it's King was completed. Most think the destruction of Karse was vengeance by the forces from Crydee, or a magical backfire. Few know its true purpose. The vast majority of those within the walls of Karse were sacrificed that day to the power of the Dark Lady, and the city itself was destroyed.

In the wake of the atrocity and the corruption of Bishop Arent of the Holy Church the current Duchess Karlisa con Doin established a secret order of knights directly answerable to her and the Council of Lords. This order would protect the Western Kingdom from cults dedicated to the Dark Lady and any other daemons that could threaten the security of the realm. It's warriors are trained in investigation and interrogation as well as combat, and many attend the Crydee School of Magic to learn the ancient art of the Eldricht Knight. After years in a Church school in Crydee being re-educated this is where Caradoc found himself, his knowledge of the cult and drive to avenge his family carrying him through the arduous training process and out the other side as a verified Knight of the Order of the Blue Rose.

Working as a 'Seeker' for the Order, Sir Caradoc travelled across the Far Coast searching for signs of daemonic cults, burning those he did find. In his travels he enlisted to be part of the legendary Knights of the Purple Dragon, a knightly order founded by the King and bearing his own sigil. Eventually word reached him of a so-called "Dragon Cult" on the Scimitar Coast. Although Dragon Cults had been known since long before Unification it was said this one had stark resemblance to the cult of the Dark Lady that had done so much damage in the past. Packing his possessions Sir Caradoc made his way south to Ald's Gate, where he signed up as a merchant on a caravan he suspected was being run by the very Dragon Cult he was searching for…
